Norwood Swimming Club has capped off a remarkable 2015/16 Long Course season with an 18th place finish at the Australian Age Championships. After finishing 34th in 2015, and 79th in 2014, this is an outstanding achievement for our club and testament to the work of our head coach, Shaun Curtis, the rest of of our coaching and support team, volunteers, parents and, of course, our very talented swimmers.
Special mentions to our medal winners - Liam Bekric, gold in the 15-16 years 50 breast MC; Abby Duncan, silver in the 17/18 years 100 free and silver in the 17/18 years 200 IM; Tess Shrestha, bronze in the 15 years 200 breast; and our 16&U 4x100 medley relay team of Emma-Lee Arnold, Tess Shrestha, Tess Bastian and Krista Ceplite, who took home the bronze.
We also had a couple of performances very close to medals, with Abby missing bronze in the 50 free by 0.01 and our girls 16&U 4x100 freestyle relay team missing bronze by 0.02.
On Thursday (April 7), our swimmers will be back in the pool for the Australian Swimming Championships. This year's event doubles as the Olympic selection trial, so it's a very exciting time for our club. Best of luck to the following swimmers ...
