Norwood Swimming Club has claimed 11th spot at the 2017 Australian Age Championships, up from 18th in 2016. Over the week of competition in Brisbane, Norwood had 22 individual finalists and claimed 10 medals.
Swimmers from well over 200 clubs contested these championships, so an 11th-place finish is an incredible result and something we should all be proud of. Well done to our head coach Shaun Curtis and the entire Norwood team on an amazing achievement.
Congratulations to our medal winners...
At the Australian Open Championships, also in Brisbane, our Rio Paralympian Liam Bekric claimed the silver medal in the 50 breast MC event and contested a number of finals.
Our Age multi-class team of Sophie Pontifex and Mattias McCarthy also had an impressive national campaign, swimming multiple personal best times. We're so proud of our team and its achievements and can't wait to see what the next 12 months might bring.
